The UM Rock Climbing Team participated in the 14th (All China) National University Sport Climbing Championship in GuiYang during 21 – 26 July 2016. UM student Sou Pak Chi ranked 5th and 6th respectively in the Bouldering and Lead event in the Women’s Category C (Professional Group).
Over 50 universities from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao sent over 300 athletes to compete in the championship which is held in the GuiZhou Medical University this year. UM sent 7 students to participate in Lead, Speed and Bouldering Events.
Facing challenges from athletes from Team China. Sou Pak Chi maintained her claim and finally settled for 5th and 6th respectively in the Bouldering and Lead event in the Women’s Category C (Professional Group). Furthermore, Ng Ka Meng finished at 11th place in the Bouldering event of the Men’s Category A-a which have over 50 participants.
