
UM Sports Volunteer Programme
Volunteer service is a virtue, which is important in our modern society. It is a civic responsibility and an individual’s soft skills.
The UM Sports Volunteer Programme (UMSVP) was launched in the 2022/2023 academic year. It aims to nurture and develop students’ quality to become volunteers through participation in different sports activities and training, and to enhance students’ ability in knowledge integration and application.
Programme Information
Objective
- To recruit students from different faculties and majors
- To promote the concept of volunteer services
- To train professional sports volunteers, develop their functions, and provide opportunities and platforms for students to master and apply knowledge and skills in sports.
- To promote sports volunteer services
- To encourage and appreciate participation in sports volunteering
- To provide sports lectures, workshops, competitions, activities for students to equip with the skills of teamwork and creativity and give back to the campus and community with enthusiasm

Sports Affairs Internship Programme (SAIP)
- Sports Facility Management (The operation of the audio-visual system, fitness room, swimming pool management and equipment maintenance.)
- Sports Affairs Management (Planning, promotion and execution of sports events and activities)
- Practical training in sports administration

『Service Hours』
- Volunteer Star of the Year: ( Completed the most service hours within the academic year )
- Gold: ( 90 Service Hours + 4 Semesters )
- Silver: ( 60 Service Hours + 3 Semesters )
- Bronze: ( 30 Service Hours + 2 Semesters )
『Sports Affairs Internship Programme (SAIP)』
- Participate in internships for a total of 50 hours per semester will be awarded an internship certificate by the Office of Sports Affairs (OSA).
*Volunteers who complete the required hours of sports service, training and internships and meet the criteria will also be awarded relevant certificates.*
