UM Rock Climbing Team Members ranked second and third at the 2nd Macau Sport Climbing Open

The UM Rock Climbing Team participated in the 2nd Macau Sport Climbing Open held by the Mountaineering Federation Macau China. UM student Fu RongRong and Wang XinYu ranked 2nd and 3rd in the Women’s Amateur Category.

Climbers from Macau, China, the Philippines and Hong Kong competed in this annual Open which was held at the Macau Portuguese School. The Open has three categories: Open, Amateur and Youth. The UM Rock Climbing Team participated in the Open and Amateur Category. The format of competition is Difficulty, meaning each climber aimed to climb as high as possible in routes that were set by route-setters.

Fu and Wang were ranked 2nd and 6th in the preliminary round. With their steady performance in the Final, they clinched 2nd and 3rd in the Women’s Amateur Category. In the Men’s Open Category, Ng Ka Meng ranked 4th in the Final.
